Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut

Economic Minister of Baden-Württemberg

Baden-Württemberg is very well positioned with its strong medium-sized enterprises – its many “hidden champions” – as well as large industrial enterprises. However our goal is to continue to develop our strengths and invest in the future. The increasing digitisation of the economy and society is having an effect on almost every area of life and leading to significant changes. Established business models are being called into question during the course of digitalisation with new players forcing their way onto the market. Our state is therefore – today more than ever – reliant on innovative and creative startup enterprises and their cooperation with established industrial enterprises.

Baden-Württemberg has already developed into a self-confident founder state, with very diverse and sustainable startup events distributed throughout the whole state. To ensure the future development of the founder state of Baden-Württemberg, we also require new approaches to support startups, in addition to our best practices in financial assistance and support programmes – especially when it comes to bringing together young and established enterprises.

I am very pleased that Allianz Industrie 4.0 is addressing this important task. The “STARTUP THE FUTURE” event offers you an excellent platform for teaming up diverse skills and being even more successful together.
