Dr.-Ing. E.h. Manfred Wittenstein

Speaker of the Allianz Industrie 4.0 Baden-Württemberg and Chairman of the Wittenstein SE Supervisory Board

Industrie 4.0 is a matter of putting proven recipes for success to the test. This also applies in particular to enterprises that are already established on the market. Those who wish to remain competitive must always put to the test new opportunities for their own enterprise and create space for new approaches. When it comes to developing and testing new ideas, a young, dynamic startup is the ideal partner. I have got to know many entrepreneurs who are open and ready for cooperation with startups. We medium-sized enterprises in particular are active, highly innovative and quick to implement new ideas. Our collaborations are primarily based on trust between two individuals and not multi-page contracts.

Why do so many qualified graduates swop the security of a permanent position for the uncertainty of an adventurous startup? Long working days and numerous drawbacks are set against independence and the realisation of their own ideas. And as highly promising as these ideas may be – a guarantee of economic success is not automatically predestined. Good solutions generally don’t fail due to a lack of creativity or the initial seed capital. The leap into the business practice is the insurmountable hurdle for many founders.

This is exactly the focus of our initiative “Startup the Future”: The platform closes the gap between young technology enterprises and established businesses. This association offers the potential for great growth and development for both parties. Enterprise meets enterprise!

I would like to wish all participants lots of good ideas, the courage to implement these together and naturally a great deal of success in all the projects!
